Welcome! I am an amateur chemist from Canada that recently took an interest in element collecting; that is, having a pure sample of every possible element on the periodic table. For obvious reasons, almost every unstable element is unobtainable due to radioactivity.

Unlike a lot of people that do this, I am not using lab equipment or impossible-to-find chemicals. My last chemistry course was 15 years ago in grade 11. I am not a fan of online purchases, so I will be using household chemicals and materials that can be obtained locally whenever possible.

I hope to encourage others to take up this hobby, and so this blog will lay out how I went about obtaining each element.
